Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 ยท Effective 21 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how The Occasion House handles personal information when you use our website and digital event-planning portal.

1. Information we collect

We may process account information such as your name, email address and authentication identifiers; occasion information such as event type, date, location and budget; planning information such as tasks, vendors and seating; guest information you choose to enter; billing and entitlement information; and technical information needed to operate, secure and improve the Service.

2. Guest and third-party data

The Service allows users to enter information about guests, vendors and other people. The user who enters this information is responsible for having an appropriate legal basis or permission to provide and use it. We process that information to provide the requested planning features.

3. How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, provide event-planning features, maintain separate occasion workspaces, process and verify access entitlements, provide customer support, prevent abuse, maintain service reliability, comply with legal obligations and improve the Service.

4. Payments

Payments may be handled by a third-party merchant/payment provider. We may receive transaction identifiers, product or plan information, payment status, subscription status, dates and other billing metadata needed to provide access. We do not need to store full payment-card details when those details are handled directly by the payment provider.

5. Service providers

We may use trusted providers for services such as authentication, hosting, databases, payments, communications, analytics or security. They may process information on our behalf or under their own applicable privacy terms, depending on the service.

6. International processing

Because The Occasion House is an online service and may use providers operating in different countries, personal information may be processed outside the country where you live. Where required, appropriate legal safeguards should be used for international transfers.

7. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain accounts and occasion records, meet legal or financial obligations, resolve disputes and protect the Service. Expiry of an Occasion Pass does not automatically delete the occasion: the planning workspace may become inaccessible while existing documents remain available. Retention practices may evolve as the Service develops and will be reflected in updated policy versions.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and users should protect their account credentials and devices.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, objection to, or portability of certain personal information. Some information may need to be retained where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention or transaction-record purposes.

10. Communications

We may send service communications relating to your account, purchases, access periods, security or important Service changes. Marketing communications, if introduced, will be handled in accordance with applicable consent and opt-out requirements.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

The website and its service providers may use cookies or similar technologies necessary for authentication, security, preferences and site operation. If optional analytics or advertising technologies are introduced, this policy and any required consent controls should be updated accordingly.

12. Children

The Service is not intended to knowingly collect account information from children where parental consent or another legal basis would be required. Users should not enter children's information unless they have the authority and lawful basis to do so.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Service, providers or legal obligations change. The current version and effective date are displayed at the top of the page.

14. Contact

Privacy questions and rights requests can be submitted through The Occasion House support/contact channel published on our website. Formal controller/business contact details will be completed as the business's merchant arrangements are finalised.

Pre-launch note: This policy should receive legal review before commercial launch and be updated with final business/contact details, payment provider information, exact subprocessors and any optional analytics technologies actually used.
